January 2014 - Harry Potter Studio Tour

During one of our December work events Donnie's iPad was stolen.  One of his colleagues felt so badly about the loss that he bought us a family ticket to the Harry Potter Studio Tour.  The Tour is located on the set where the movies were filmed.  It is the final repository of all the set pieces, prosthetics, etc, used in the movies.  It was neat, but Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter is so much more impressive!

Why does Daddy always make us look into the sun?

That's a grim picture!

The set of the Hogwarts dining hall. This room was so small!  Amazing details that we never noticed in the movies.

Original costumes.

Gryffindor common room

The Knight Bus!

Look at the people on the left side to get an idea of scale.  This model of Hogwarts was huge!  It was used for all the flyover scenes of the school.  Again, incredible detail.  This was probably my favorite part of the tour.
