September 2011

My Sarah Cat is 4 years old! How did she get to be such a big girl? All she wanted for her birthday this year was a "pink pinata birthday party" and a pink scooter.

What do we do when its ridiculously hot outside? Pile together in a big heap of electronic activity. What is this look my husband is giving me?

Boys. Mud.

August 2011

In August the kids and I took a three week road trip back home to Mississippi and Texas. We visited MomEm and Pappaw in Mississippi for a week, and then headed over to Dallas. Here is a picture of us visiting with Graddy (my grandfather) at his nursing home.

On our way back to Florida we stopped for a day in Navarre (just outside Pensacola). Mommy and kids were filled with joy at the beautiful ocean and white sands. Then the dinner plate sized jellyfish attacked. We quickly retreated to the hotel pool, which the kids declared to be "animal free" and enjoyed immensely.

The next day we visited the Gulf Breeze Zoo. It is THE BEST ZOO on the planet. Very small, kind of mom-n-pop. But many of the animals roam free. Through the whole zoo, not just a "petting zoo" area. We almost had to bring some baby goats home.

July 2011

With our babysitter, Mary Anne, just before she moved out. We miss her!

June 2011

Have you ever seen a more pitiful face than this?

Trip to Universal Studios in Orlando. We met up with Amy and all her family, and mooched off of them for a fabulous tour of Islands of Adventure.

Abby is picked to have a wand choose her...

Hogwarts in the background. Abby and Ezra with cousin Harrison.

Ezra with cousin Quentin.

Monkeys in a tree.

At the Battle of Midway dinner. We sat at a table with Bill Roy, a vet from WWII. Bill was a photographer who jumped a sinking ship with his film taped to his body. Most of the historical footage from Midway is his. Just before the dinner, Bill and his wife had returned from a trip to Europe, where they stayed in youth hostels... What a survivor.

May 2011

Kids Triathlon at the University of North Florida. It was Abby's 3rd year, and Ezra's 1st. He had just recovered from a bout of flu, so he didn't really have his swimming strength up, but no problem. He had his trusty kickboard!

April 2011

Apparently not too much happened in April, as I only have a few photos.
Or they are all on my phone.
But here's Eli with a rare serious face, probably trying to stick his finger in the camera's eye:

Winners at the pinewood derby again ... so much expressed in the faces of joy they turned to the camera here. Guess which child is the highly competitive, driven, top predator?

And guess which child wins the sleeping award?

March 2011

March is always a crazy insane month. Three (now 4!) family birthdays, spring break, travel, visitors, etc. But to start it all off, my motley crew of leprechauns celebrating St Patrick's Day:

Look who's 2!! How can that be...?

Can you tell these two are cousins? Down to the white t-shirts...

Daddy and his rental car (okay, not really...)

How many kids get to visit a leather shop with their GRANDPARENTS? :) I have NO DOUBT this child will be wearing one of these for real in a few short years.

Welcome to the world sweet Timothy! As Abby said, another BOY cousin!!!

February 2011

Most of you reading this know my kids (with the exception of Abby) will jump off anything. Here are some action shots!

Girl time ... these girls are starting to look frighteningly like teenagers!

Yes, it's February. I had to run errands for the day, and DADDY went to Costco and bought the kids a slip 'n slide. Therefore, I am absolved of all responsibility when the grass is destroyed.
