May Is Busy...

The Kennedys came to visit in May, and joined us for Derby Day, Kids' Triathlon, and the general mayhem!

Kids' Triathlon - May 09

Abigail ran in the YMCA First Coast Kids' Triathlon this year, and had a great time after she conquered her nerves!  It was an EARLY start to the day, showing up at the crack of dawn to set up bikes and gear in the transition area:

After swimming it was straight into the transition area and then off to bike 3 miles ... and here is where we noticed for the first time that her bike is already too small.  Or at least we could have raised the seat a bit for her!

Last was the half-mile run, just as it was starting to get really hot outside.  Abby saw the finish line and did a great final sprint for the end!

It was a very fun, positive experience for the whole family, especially considering that there was very little training involved (a little jogging at night, and some swim lessons for a few weeks before the race!).    The photographer for the event also has a great picture of Ab on his website (scroll down the bottom of the page).

We will definitely be doing this again next year!

Derby Day Winners! - May 09

Abigail and friends picked up quite a few trophies at the car races this year, due in no small part to Daddy staying up late at night drilling in weights and balancing wheels...  He managed to be the force behind 4 derby day trophies!   Here Abigail and Jessica show off their cars, the Unicorn-Mobile and Under-The-Sea:

April Is Crazy

Did April happen? We spent the month trying to reconfigure a new normal for our family. So far 4 kids really isn't that crazy, except for bedtime. Oh boy - all previous rules and routines have flown out the window, and everyone seems to be needing snuggles at once! Here are some random shots of life this month...
